Merging Vets and Players (MVP) is a movement focused on empowering military members, veterans, and former professional athletes by providing them with a new team after their service or sports career. We are seeking an experienced and organized self-starter to support and grow our regional membership, manage partnerships, and help expand our community.
Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee Chapter Operations: Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Seattle Chapter, ensuring alignment with MVP’s mission and goals.

Volunteer Management and Reporting: Supervise and support other staff members, a growing volunteer base, and oversee engagement, performance and development. Report on personnel actions, significant chapter activities, and manage third-party contracts and partnerships.

Project and Financial Management: Ensure chapter projects and programs meet organizational milestones and goals, adhering to approved financials and timelines.

Risk Management and Reporting: Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks. Produce program reports for management and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations.

Program Outreach and Engagement: Design, implement, and monitor outreach initiatives to engage target audiences, improve participant engagement, and support stewardship programs. Leverage local and national resources to achieve measurable results.

Communication Strategy Development: Develop and continuously refine communication strategies, guidelines, and resources to effectively engage MVP participants and stakeholders.

Event Planning and Execution: Schedule, plan, and execute special events to promote MVP’s programs and increase community visibility. Ensure events are strategically aligned with organizational goals.

Fundraising and Development: Set and pursue fundraising goals, identify potential donors, and execute outreach strategies to secure funding. Support grant writing efforts and provide updates on tracking and reporting.

Partnership Development: Build and sustain relationships with Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs), athlete resources, and other local and national stakeholders. Represent MVP at meetings, conferences, career fairs, and other events to enhance program impact.

Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with the Program Director, and program managers to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of programming and activities.

Compensation and Benefits
Position Type: We are open to filling this role as either a part-time or full-time position, depending on the candidate's strengths, experience in the field, and availability. Final determination will be made based on the candidate's fit with the organizational needs and their ability to manage the responsibilities effectively.

Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a proactive and experienced leader with a strong background in management and project oversight. This role requires someone who can work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Key qualifications include:

Location Requirement: Must reside in or near the Seattle metropolitan area to facilitate weekly in-person Huddle sessions at a local gym.

Education and Experience: 3-5 years of experience in project management, or equivalent experience in a related field; peer-to-peer certification or equivalent experience, though peer facilitation training will be provided.

Availability: Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to support events and programming.

Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others. Must demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Leadership and Organizational Skills: Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational abilities.

Background Check: Successful completion of a criminal history background check, including State and FBI screenings (employment is contingent upon satisfactory results).

Driver’s License and Travel: Valid U.S. driver’s license with the ability to travel regularly for meetings within local and national markets as assigned. Occasional travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications

Peer Counseling and Conflict Resolution: Experience in peer counseling or conflict resolution, with the ability to navigate sensitive situations effectively.

Veteran and Athlete Experience: Previous experience working with veterans and/or professional athletes is highly desirable.

Nonprofit Experience: Experience working or volunteering with community-based or national nonprofit organizations.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required. Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems is a plus.

Marketing and Social Media Expertise: Strong knowledge of social media platforms and basic marketing tools to enhance outreach and engagement.
Working Conditions
This position involves a mix of office-based work and on-site activities at various locations, including outdoor and public settings. The role requires attendance at meetings, events, and programs that may take place in environments such as gyms, parks, sports events, and stadiums, often involving large crowds and high noise levels. Work hours are flexible and will vary based on project or program needs, as well as staff and partner availability. Periodic work outside of standard business hours (9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday) and occasional weekend availability will be required.
Physical Requirements

Reporting Relationships
This position reports to the Program Director and other relevant officers as necessary to support the mission and goals of MVP. The reporting structure is subject to change based on organizational needs.
