Bill Johnson joined Merging Vets and Players (MVP) as Program Manager - Dallas in January 2024, bringing with him over three decades of leadership experience from a distinguished 30-year career in the United States Army. Enlisting in 1986, Bill served as both a Special Forces Operator and an Infantryman, rising through the ranks to hold every leadership position from Team Leader to Command Sergeant Major before retiring in 2014.
Following his military service, Bill transitioned into the nonprofit sector, where he continued to demonstrate his strategic and operational expertise. From 2014 to 2018, he served as Director of Operations for First Command Educational Foundation (FCEF), managing scholarship programs and providing strategic counsel to the CEO. He went on to serve as FCEF’s Chief Executive Officer from 2018 to 2022, leading the organization through a period of growth and increased impact.
In 2022, Bill entered the private sector as Director of Military and International Sales at ReconRobotics, where he was responsible for advancing global sales strategies until 2023. He later served as Director of Mission United at United Way of Tarrant County from 2024 to 2025, furthering his commitment to serving veterans and their families.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior University. He also holds certifications from Columbia Business School.
