National Volunteer Coordinator,
Nathan joined MVP in August of 2022 following a volunteer-supported community outreach event in Chicago, IL. He immediately saw the value in the MVP peer-to-peer support model and the natural camaraderie between professional athletes and veterans. Since then, Nathan has been an active member of the Chicago chapter and an earnest advocate of MVP as a volunteer.
In this role, Nathan hopes to enable service-oriented members and supporters of MVP to support and grow the team. His passion for the mission of MVP and the work of volunteers in the organization comes from a desire to show gratitude to those who helped him through difficult times in his military-to-civilian transition.
Nathan was a field artillery officer in the U.S. Army for ten years before medically retiring in 2021. He served in various leadership and staff positions, both stateside and abroad. In 2013, Nathan deployed from Germany to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with the 2d Cavalry Regiment.
When not advocating for and supporting the mission of MVP, Nathan is active with the Travis Manion Foundation as a Character Does Matter (CDM) mentor. As a part of their veteran-led youth mentorship program, he passionately encourages today’s youth to lead with character inside and outside the classroom.
Nathan was appointed to and attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. When not engaged in volunteer work or studies at the University of Chicago, he supports his family-owned restaurant in Milwaukee, WI. Following MBA studies, Nathan plans to work in the environmental policy and renewable energy sector.
